1998年生まれ、京都府出身の作曲家。
私立大阪桐蔭高等学校III類吹奏楽コースを経て、京都市立芸術大学作曲専攻を卒業。同大学大学院修士課程作曲専攻を修了。
大学院在学中に学内の奨学金を得て、フライブルク音楽大学(ドイツ)に交換留学。

同じく大学院在学中にオーケストラ作品「まねっこごっこ」が第91回日本音楽コンクール第2位を受賞し、東京フィルハーモニー交響楽団によって演奏された。

主な作品は、ミュージカル作品「水晶の国にお別れを」、クラリネットと電子音楽のための「Zapping Shower」、映像と室内楽のための「Defocusing II - with Falling -」など。
また幅広い編成への編曲活動も作曲活動と並行して行っている。

修士課程修了時に成績優秀者として京都市長賞を受賞。
2023年に京都市から京都市文化芸術みらい賞を受賞。
作曲を岡田加津子、中村典子、酒井健治、Johannes Schöllhornの各氏に師事。

Takumu Morita is a composer writing music for concerts, stage, film, and narrative forms. His work is shaped by an interest in time, resonance, and structure, and spans orchestra, wind ensemble, chamber music, electronic sound, and stage or screen-based projects.

He graduated from the Composition Department of Kyoto City University of Arts and completed a master’s degree in composition at the same university. During his graduate studies, he studied at the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg as an exchange student, studying with Johannes Schöllhorn. His teachers include Kazuko Okada, Noriko Nakamura, Kenji Sakai, and Johannes Schöllhorn.

His orchestral work Manekko Gokko received 2nd Prize in the Composition Division of the 91st Music Competition of Japan and was performed by the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. Upon completing his master’s degree, he received the Kyoto Mayor’s Award, and in 2023 he received the Kyoto City Art New Artist Award.

Major works include With Light and Clouds for wind ensemble, Zapping Shower for clarinet and electronics, Defocusing II — with Falling — for video and chamber ensemble, and the musical Farewell to the Crystal Kingdom.
